It’s true: a bad apple can indeed spoil the whole bunch…or at least severely impair said bunch.
As I’ve written in the past, I believe that poor leadership can resonate throughout an organization…and the negative domino affect can be very painful. When sales leaders exhibit poor leadership, that damage can be manifested twofold: clients could seek to end their relationship with your organization, and your sales people’s performance (and confidence) could suffer as well.
The moral of the story? Do your due diligence BEFORE you hire a potential sales leadership liability.
